Bail ended up being set at $1 million Wednesday for the Cottage Grove guy who authorities associated with a complex black internet plot to cover their wife’s murder before he fundamentally poisoned and shot her himself and staged her death as committing suicide.
Stephen Carl Allwine, 43, had been faced with second-degree deliberate murder in the Nov. 13, 2016, loss of their spouse, Amy Louise Allwine, 43, at their 110th Street house. He showed up Wednesday for a short first look in Washington County District Court. He could be being held in Washington County prison.
District Court Judge Susan Miles set Allwine’s bail at $1 million without conditions or $500,000 with conditions, including which he wear a GPS monitoring unit if he posts bail, stay static in Minnesota and have now just supervised connection with the Allwines’ 9-year-old son.
Allwine’s lawyer, Kevin DeVore, sought a lesser bail which he stated their customer could manage. Working together with Allwine could be more difficult if he could be in prison, DeVore stated.
“This is just a case that is complicated” he told Miles.
Fred Fink, unlawful unit chief for the Washington County Attorney’s workplace, had required a $2 million bail because he said circumstances recommend Allwine is a journey danger. Fink stated Allwine has got the funds to flee and recently liquidated silver coins for money.
Fink also referenced the elegance involved with Allwine’s so-called actions, saying it “appears become an absolute determination to destroy this woman.”(more…)
